NO EXCUSES FOR FLY TIPPING
I am chasing up the removal of what looks to be an industrial freezer on the Dyas Road. Sadly other rubbish is being put with it.
If a vehicles has been used to dump the fridge it could have easily been taken to the Holford drive recycling centre further down the Aldridge Road. Councillor Barbara Dring and I are on the look out for fly tipped rubbish and report it when seen.
No excuses for fly tipping.

SADLY THERE HAS BEEN SOME ACTS OF ASB AND VANDALISM IN THE RESERVE
Following reports of mind less vandalism on the Queslett Nature Reserve today from 2 of my fellow Reserve Watch member Brenda and John I have been out on patrol again today.
Sadly trees and iris have been up rooted near the end of the lake. Brenda and I have now reported this act of vandalism to the Local Police Team and Parks department.
There are also reports of acts of anti social behaviour by a couple of dog walkers. We will ask the Police and Parks department to try and monitor this.
We are also considering using some Wildlife CCTV equipment to keep an eye on some of the wild life in the reserve.
The FQNR would ask those using the reserve to report any ASB or vandalism they see.
The FQNR Reserve watch will also try and monitor the situation.

THE OSCOTT OSCOTT ELDERLY RESIDENTS GROUP
I was pleased to be able to go with the Oscott Elderly Residents Group on their coach trip to Stratford on Avon
There were a number of new faces from the Oscot area and every one enjoyed a social gathering and a boat trip on the river.
I would certainly recommend any elderly Oscott residents who may feel isolated and in need of good company join the OERG. You will get a cheerful welcome and for as little as £2 per meeting wou get a go on a raffle and light refreshment say well a chance to meet up with other residents and make friends.
There are also occasional coach trips and guest speaker to keep things even more interesting.
Mauren and her team of volunteers d a great job.
If you want any more details please let me know.

FINDING OUT HOW THE WEST MIDLAND TRAVEL SAFER TRAVEL TEAM WORK
As part of my role on the Transport Delivery Group I attend sessions with other member to see how parts of the Public Transport work.
Today we went on "site" and met up with the safer travel team. ( A Police team made up of both Transport Police and WMPF officers. Having discuss some of their general issues we went out on the street and watched how they work in cooperation with the revenue section of the National Express bus company.
They are a good deterrent not only to stop fare dodgers but also dealing with ASB and at times coming across known criminals

THERE IS NOTHING NEW ABOUT WANTING TO IMPROVE OUR ENVIRONMENT AND HELP OUR WILD LIFE
Its really pleasing to see the environmental is on the front pages these day and it is being taken seriously now by so many.
Having started my Blog https://keithlinnecor.blogspot.com/ back in 2007 when the environment was not on the agenda nearly so much, I pleased when looking back that I was raising the subject then and before i started my blog.
It is a difficult subject to deal with there are no easy solutions. There are so many other issues competing with it for funding especially in these days of politically lead austerity and funding cuts.

We must end poverty, improve our health system, reduce crime and home more people but we need to secure our planets future by improving our environment.
At least its now being recognised that our wild life and environment matter.

It was nice to be shown around the Aldridge Road allotments today by John and Brenda.
There is clearly a lot of hard work going on there to help create healthy food.
The wild life is also doing well there.
Any Birmingham resident wishing to apply for an allotment will find it fasrly straight forward by going on line https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/20090/allotments/765/apply_for_an_allotment
and following the instructions
DANGEROUS PARKING AT THE HASSOP ROAD BEECHES ROAD NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH
I am continuing to request action be taken to prevent dangerous parking at the Hassop Road beeches Road junction.
Parking at the top of Hassop road at the centre is particularly dangerous as it prevent those wishing to turn right into Beeches Road see the oncoming traffic.
It is surprising anyone would even consider parking there?
