Eye witnesses have informed me that there was yet another accident on the Queslett Road near the Nova Court Junction (opp0site) on Saturday evening. An ambulance was called to the scene.
It would appear that the Birmingham and Sandwell Council seem unconcerned about the dangerous on this stretch of road and are far more interested in avoiding their responsibility which is to introduce road safety measures there.

Firstly close to this junction there is a speed camera that since it's installation has never been working along with another a few hundred yards up the Queslett rd. So why waste good money installing these devices that do not work when good money could have been spent on this dangerous junction. As an advanced driver I find this junction a tricky one to navigate from all directions and is a danger to all road users. Secondly I suppose we will have to wait for a fatal accident to happen before something is done to make this junction safer.
I have been calling for safety measures for the whole of the Queslett Road for some years. They are trying to do it bit by bit rather than with some combined thought.
The Nova Court Juntion in my veiw needs widening and marking/ signing better. Lights would be a help as part of the whole sceme.

31st October and yet another serious accident close to this dangerous junction. This time a solo emergency services vehicle. Maybe following an internal investigation into this accident someone in the right department may wake up and to the fact that measures are required to take the dangerous element out of this stretch of road. This is not an isolated incident as there have been many similar incidents of this nature at this location over many years. I wonder how long till the next serious accident at this point. I would like to bet not that long. Just take a walk underneath the bridge supporting the motorway above and see the evidence for yourselves on the pillars.
After so many road traffic accidents on this road in such a short amount of time, u'd think that something more than just a few speed cameras being placed on the road would be needed.. It is completely apparent that this isn't the answer to all black spot areas especially as it seems that it hasn't solved the issue as quite tragic accidents are still taking place in this area.. The cameras being placed on this road seem to suggest that the reason that so many accidents are occuring due to the speed that road users are travelling. This isn't the case as most of us aware as the array of different kind of accidents differ in each incident. from the young girl tht was knocked over to the young male who sadly lost his life after his car travelled across the central land and landed @ the otherside ofthe road.. It's seems to me that something along the lines of traffic lights to moderate the movement of vehicles on this road and give a safe enviroment for pedestrians as well as vehicle users..what about metal central reservations like on motorways to stop vehicles in their tracks wen they lose control on the bends instead of a half foot deep pavement that when vehicles hit causes more damage and sends them into a spin instead of guiding vehicles along the side and bringing them to a holt..how many more lifes lost is it going to take before somebody stands and takes ownership of some kind of scheme to deal with this road..
As a close family member to somebody that has lost their life on this road I think it's about time that some serious thought was put into some kind of solution to issues on this road and stop other families having to go through the heartbreak of what my family did..
