It is a great shame that yet again thieves have stolen lead from the MaryVale Church roof.
This time they were disturbed however and left the copper behind.
Both Councillor Barbara Dring and I have been concerned about Lead / copper thefts in the area Perry Common Library for example and are asking our MP to put pressure on the Government to tighten up the rules around how scrap merchants deal with the purchase of metals.
I would also like to ask residents to be observant and should you see anything suspicious especially near churches in the Oscott area, call the Police.
