I chaired the meeting of the Oscott Schools parking and Road safety committee this afternoon. I was pleased to see that most of the schools in Oscott sent representatives as did the Police, The Perry Barr District,the Fire Brigade, the BCC Transportation department and other Road safety Representatives. An extremely knowledgeable pupil called Luke also attended on behalf of the Perry Beeches Academy.
At these meeting there are updates from past meetings and long term possible solutions are examined. It is acknowledged by all there are no simple solutions and that actions to deal with one schools issues may well have a knock on effect at anther school and for residents.School best practises and possible funding initiatives as they apply to road safety are also explored at these meetings.

Local residents will be given an update and a chance to comment at future Ward Committee meetings.
