The Oscott Ward ward Committee received a large number of application requests for funding (Oscott Community Chest from groups, organisations and residents. The limited funding we have to offer 100k* is will clearly not give everyone all they have asked for but despite some nonsense written in certain Political leaflets at the moment the money will be spent to benifit Oscott residents
The applications are being processed by Council officers and will come before the Oscott Wards Committee for their recommendations. The committee will include all 3 Oscott Councillors (as it has always done)
For example last year ALL 3 Oscott Councillors excepted the recommendations 's of the Osoctt WAB which is why some election material currently doing the rounds is not sadly very accurate to say the least and is more about misleading the voter than anything else .
The next WAB meeting will take place on the 9th of May (as not to influence the Local Elections) and the first round of decisions will be made in public by the 3 Oscott Councillors on May 23rd
at the next Oscott Ward Committee.
If you would like to know more about the Oscott Community Chest and the funding process please let me know.
* There is an extra 25K this year but it is only for capital projects (bricks and mortar unfortunately) and is is being looked at by the Oscott Ward Committee (all the Oscott Councillors) separately at the moment with the advice of Council officers.
