SHADY LANE IS BECOMING A LITTER HOTSPOT

I have been receiving a numbers of complaints about the increase in litter over the last 12 months or so.
One of the many roads I am constantly receiving complaints about is Shady Lane. I have requested the Street Cleaning department look into this and take action.
For example there needs to be more litter bins (despite the fact they are being stolen) and the way our blue recycling boxes are being collected does not help.
I have requested the netting which can be used to stop paper blowing out of the boxes be supplied to more residents.
Finally the timing of the way the streets are being cleaned needs to be looked at across the Oscott Ward.
The Councils decision to get rid of the Oscott Environmental wardens who did a great job helping cut down the amount of litter on our streets by warning residents about putting out black bags and recycling boxes to early and speaking to local shop keepers about their litter problems, has not helped either.
