NATURE NEEDS GARDENS

There is no easy way of telling some residents this but completely slabbing, tar mac'ing, concreting or covering your garden with artificial lawn is not helping the environment or wild life. In fact it can help increase flooding, soil erosion and lose of wildlife.
Its far better to have a untidy looking garden with shrubs, trees, grass and a few weeds. It may take a few hours each year to keep it in shape but those who care out our climate, environment and wild life need to do just that.
Perhaps awards should be given for environmental and wild life friendly gardens? Its is something I will be suggesting to the powers that be.
