One of the duties we Councillors are expected to carry out, is that of a advocate for those in our Council run care establishments. Sadly this duty is not always carried out out as expected however.
I therefore agreed, when asked by the Perry Barr Constituency Chairman, to act as a champion for such visits, on behalf of the Constituency. I will now do my best to ensure all such establishments in the Perry Barr Constituency get a least one visit from myself over the next 6 months and to let the relevant authorities know of my findings.
I also hope, other Councillors who have not yet done so, also make these visits, as many of those in our care establishments, are the most vulnerable in our society.
