It is time Amey who are responsible for upgrading our streets started replacing more of the overgrown large street trees in Oscott.
I have been calling on them to introduce in a phased orderly way a tree replacement program worth the name for some time and will continue to do so.
Large trees need to be removed systematically and be replaced by more suitable species. This needs to be done in such a way as to ensure roads have trees of various sizes and by the time all the large trees in a road have been removed the new trees have had time to grow and become established.
