OSCOTT LIBRARY'S NEW OPENING HOURS

Like many residents I am a regular Library user and is with regrete I have to pass on the news of the new library hours for the Kingstanding Library, the Perry Common Library

WED        CLOSED
THUR   10.30     to 1       &;  2-6
FRI        9.30      to 1       &;  2-5
SAT      10.         to 1       &;  2-5

PERRY COMMON
MON      9           to 1      &; 2-5
TUE        CLOSED     
WED      CLOSED
THUR    10          to 1      &; 2-6
FRI          9          to 1      &; 2-5
SAT        10         to 1      &; 2-5


Clearly these hours are not satisfactory and along with my colleagues Councillor Barbara Dring and Tristan Chatfield I am lobbying to get them improved.
The changes have come about because of the hour contracted to those who work in the Libraries (who we are battling to keep) and a reduction in hours forced on us from above. They are intended as a temporary measure. We are also battling to improve the Tower Hill Library's new opening hours.
